Introduction to the

Human Venture

a course on how we chart a wiser path for humanity.

    The Invitation

Have you been working for change but wondering why our collective efforts fall short? For caring people, it is overwhelming and often frustrating to see well-intentioned efforts fall short. When we look at the scale and complexity of unprecedented challenges like climate change, technological disruption, social breakdown, we need an approach that is equal to the task.

Introduction to the Human Venture is an invitation to examine how we think about problems, solutions, and what progress actually means at a deeper, more rigorous level.

Through eight sessions and three intensive inquiry labs, you will explore the causal architecture of humanity's most persistent challenges: why civilizations struggle, why good intentions produce bad outcomes, and what it actually takes to learn and adapt at the scale our moment demands. Drawing on case studies from across human history, cultures, and fields of endeavour, you will develop the thinking tools to operate at longer time horizons and larger scales, and to ask harder, more honest questions about the work you are already doing.

You will not be alone in this struggle. The challenges of our time are part of a longer human story, one that is still being written, and you are already part of shaping it. The Human Venture community is here to support explorers like yourself.

Really what we're trying to do is figure out how to keep human beings from doing the same stupid things over and over agin.
